The GrEW Academy

The GrEW Academy is our latest initiative to help people gain work experience and a trade whilst they learn.

 

If you are looking for a qualification and work experience whilst getting paid, the GrEW Academy could be the answer!

 

Working closely with Coleg y Cymoedd in Ystrad Mynach, our apprentices work towards a Level 2 qualification in Multi-Skilled General Maintenance which covers bricklaying, plastering, carpentry, tiling, painting and decorating, roofing and plumbing. The course lasts for two years, with apprentices attending college for three days each week in year one and one day each week in year two. For the remainder of the week, apprentices put their developing skills into practice with local and national contractors, who are part of the RCT Homes Group.

 

We also offer additional training to apprentices including first aid, health and safety, manual handling, asbestos awareness and sharps awareness. We also have our own CSCS Test Centre, enabling apprentices to gain their CSCS card as well as their Level 2 qualification.
